Pyrgos

Pyrgos village is located on the top of a hill giving 360 degree views of the island.
If you climb up into the village you will come to one of the five Venetian castles of the island dating back to the 13th century.
Once at the top of this fortified settlement you find breathtaking views of both sides of the island.
Pyrgos was once the capital of the island until the early 1800s, with its traditional houses built around the castle.
At the centre of the village you will find tavernas and small touristic shops, further up into the village you will come across restaurants with some amazing views.
Even though Pyrgos has hotels and is touristic the old style village feel is still there.
